My Story
As an experienced trainer, I used to write and deliver training courses within previous roles before coming into the hospitality industry.
I spent the first seven years learning the trade in North Wales, building a successful business by taking a failing country house and turning it into an award winning B&B (Plas Dinas Country House).
I then moved to Torquay and began from scratch and within two years had another multi-award winning business, (The 25 Boutique B&B) and in less than four years became the Best B&B in the World on TripAdvisor.
I'll help you choose the right property, in the right location, and guide you through setting up your B&B, making the best decisions to save you time and money. I'll pass on all my experience and lessons I've learnt to catapult you to success too.
We love the freedom
Many B&Bs barely make a profit, turning over £40-£80,000 per year means their profit is meagre and owners need another source of income like pensions just to survive.
We have a successful, and more importantly profitable business turning over on average £125k a year. Knowing how and where to save money, where to spend our money on advertising and how to price our product effectively affords us a high profit margin.
This means we have the money to be able to take several holidays a year - we've spent far too much time in Gran Canaria over the years. We generally have a minimum of three weeks abroad a year and five or six short breaks in the UK.
We love going to the theatre and having meals out. We will enjoy a drink in the sun on the seafront at the drop of a hat too.

Passing on my experience
I'm asked to talk at industry seminars and trade shows, take part in industry events and speak in webinars and on podcasts. I now judge awards, produce Government videos and support other B&B owners wherever I can. I'm a regular contributor to Luxury B&B and other magazines and took part in Indie Live 2020.
